What is EECP Treatment?
What is EECP Treatment?
Enhanced External Counter Pulsation (EECP) is performed as a non-invasive treatment to lower the number and intensity of angina. Treatment is administered through three pairs of external inflatable cuffs that are applied around the lower legs, upper legs, and buttocks. These cuffs continuously inflate and deflate between the resting period of the heartbeat and increase blood returned to the heart. Overall EECP helps cardiac patients by reducing the workload of the heart, Increasing blood flow to the heart, Stimulating the effect of drugs and exercise, and thereby slowing the progress of cardiovascular disease.

HOW EECP TREATMENT WORKS?
In an EECP procedure, blood is pumped from the legs to the heart while the heart is at rest. It enhances blood flow throughout the body and stimulates the development of new blood vessels.
1
Lay on Bed
During a one-hour therapy, the EEcp machine is intended to calm the patient. The bed's shape and curvature help the patient's body relax and loosen up.
2
Air Cuffs
The thighs, buttocks, and calves are all wrapped by three huge cuffs. These cuffs are connected to the device and sync with the patient's heartbeat.
3
ECG Synchronization
The patient is connected to an EECP machine by a three-lead ECG. This ECG is transmitted into the device, which operates as required during treatment.
4
Patient's Heart & EECP
These cuffs progressively inflate and deflate during the treatment, compressing the calves, thighs, and buttocks to the beat of the heart without affecting the body's normal processes.
Patients can be treated with EECP treatment in following diseas.
- Angina Pectoris
- Sports Enhancement
- Congestive Heart Failure
- Erectile Dysfunction

External Counter pulsation
For cardiac patients with IHD (Ischemic Heart disease), such as angina and heart failure, it is completely safe and non-surgical.
The goal of EECP treatment is to increase the amount of oxygen-rich blood reaching the heart by opening collaterals inside coronary arteries and forming natural bypasses around blockages.
Treatment for EECP typically lasts 35–38 sessions over 6-7 weeks.
Reasons to choose EECP
It is the only non-invasive option available for treating heart patients with coronary artery disease, angina, and heart failure. It helps in reducing or entirely eliminating angina pain.
In addition to Coronary Artery Disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, and other conditions can be treated using EECP.
Additionally, it gives patients more energy and encourages an active lifestyle.
